Biology
Biology is the study of life. Students completing this course learn about living systems and examine scientific explanations for biological phenomena. Also, students actively conduct controlled experiments that require data gathering, analyzation, and use of scientific information. During the course, activities become more complex and long-term as students begin to understand the interconnected nature of life. Each module includes self-checks, scientific investigations, interactive and review activities, projects, and assessments. This course is aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and prepares students to take the End-of-Course SOL test.
