Chemistry
Aligned to the Virginia Standards of Learning, the Chemistry course includes units of study about the structure, composition, properties, and reactions of matter. Through media-rich content, engaging activities, and authentic experiences, students explore the nature of chemistry, the work of chemists, and the interactions of science, technology, and society. Virtual and hands-on scientific investigations allow students to test predictions, use evidence to revisit initial concepts, and examine the connection between their ideas and the scientific views that explain their findings. Through these guided learning activities, students can apply the knowledge and skills that they learn in this course to real-world situations.
